Overview
| The model E gearbox is the top of the line gearbox from Rotax. The E gearbox has a built in electric starter activated by a Sprag clutch. The addition of the E box adds only 1.5 to the length of the same engine equipped with a C gearbox and allows the use of the standard recoil on the magneto end as a back up starter. Cost of the E gear is several hundred dollars less and weights considerably less than a C box and a magneto end starter system. Starter requires a minimum 18 amp hour battery.
Model E Gearbox has basically the same inertia limitations (6000 kg/cm2 or 72 x 3 blade prop) as the C box and is available in 2.68, 3.00, 3.47, and 4.00 to 1 ratios. Weight of the model E gear box is 24.7 lbs. |
